ABOUT THE ARTIST

JOHN VENCL is a full-time firefighter / EMT of 14 years with the Elyria Fire Department in Elyria, Ohio. Facing the challenging demands and intense stress of the job, Vencl found a unique way of processing and overcoming the difficulties one must face as a first responder. Through his love for painting, John found not only self-expression and joy, but a method for healing and trauma release.

Each of Vencl's pieces tells a different story as he experiments with abstracts in various mediums utilizing bright colors and different textures. As a form of therapy, Vencl has found freedom in his art and is grateful to share it with you.
